In this section, candidates will encounter passages approximately 450 words long. Each passage will be followed by questions that test your ability to:
- Understand the central theme, arguments, and viewpoints presented in the passage.
- Draw inferences and arrive at logical conclusions.

Current Affairs, Including General Knowledge
This section will feature passages up to 450 words, taken from news articles, journals, and other non-fiction sources. While some passages may touch upon legal topics, no prior legal knowledge will be required to answer the questions.
The questions will assess your awareness of topics such as:
- Significant current events in India and across the world.
Arts, culture, and heritage. International relations and developments. Historical events with lasting relevance.
Legal Reasoning
This section will present passages about 450 words long, often involving real-life legal scenarios, public policy issues, or ethical and philosophical dilemmas. While prior legal knowledge is unnecessary, general awareness of contemporary legal and ethical issues will help.
The questions will focus on your ability to:
- Identify rules and principles mentioned in the passage.
- Apply these rules to various scenarios.
- Analyze how changes to these rules might affect their application.
Logical Reasoning
The Logical Reasoning section will include short passages, around 450 words each, followed by questions designed to test your ability to:
- Identify arguments, including their premises and conclusions.
- Analyze and evaluate reasoning patterns.
- Understand how modifying premises can strengthen or weaken an argument.
- Infer logical outcomes and apply these to new scenarios.
- Recognize relationships, analogies, contradictions, and equivalence between arguments.
Quantitative Techniques
This section will consist of short data sets, propositions, or numerical representations presented in text or graphical form. Candidates will need to analyze and derive information, then apply mathematical operations to solve related questions.
The questions will require you to:
- Interpret numerical data and draw inferences.
- Apply mathematical concepts such as ratios, proportions, basic algebra, mensuration, and statistics, typically from the 10th-grade level.
